Alphachem was created by Farid Jafarov, an executive with 20 years of managerial experience in infrastructure and finance. On October 23, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the opening and foundation laying ceremonies of new enterprises in Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park.

One of the early Alphachem's investments - Novus Plastica — was among first entities visited by Mr. Aliyev. The resident of Sumgait from 2020; company uses products from SOCAR Polymer and Azerikimya to manufacture two types of products: carbon black additives for polyethylene pipes and polyethylene coatings used in industrial packaging. Using advanced Italian technologies, Novus Plastica plans to export its products to Turkey and CIS countries.

The project investments exceed 12.1 million manats; up to 50 new permanent jobs are to be created by Novus.
